Dr. John Wilson joins us as our latest fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Wilson chose to follow in his mother’s footsteps by pursuing his pre-medical training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating with honors in 2014. He then matriculated at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago where he graduated within the top 4% of his class based on his outstanding clinical evaluations and board exam scores above the 97th percentile nationally. Inspired by the deep cultural, social, and personal importance of our face and neck anatomy, Dr. Wilson then completed residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery close to home at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, which has a long tradition of excellence in facial plastic surgery that afforded him the opportunity to work closely with several prominent members of the specialty. In his current role as a fellow at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, Dr. Wilson offers a wide range of cosmetic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeries and procedures. He is actively committed to the care of his patients, who come from many different backgrounds and perspectives. He is also dedicated to advancing the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery through scholarly research, presentations at national scientific conferences, and peer-review of outside research at prominent medical journals.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Wilson enjoys skiing, cooking, gardening, swimming, traveling, bee keeping, and catching some sun with his dog on his family’s hobby farm in Illinois.
Dr. Wilson offers a full complement of facial aesthetic and rejuvenation procedures including rhinoplasty, face lift, eyelid surgery, ear reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, scar revision, and injectables under the supervision of Dr. Abraham and the other renowned faculty of the Mount Sinai Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship.
