  1. What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation or SMP is a contemporary, innovative, non-surgical hair loss solution
ideal for both men and women that safely creates the look of fuller, denser hair. It is a cosmetic
scalp “tattoo” that gives the illusion of fuller hair by camouflaging scalp skin with micro-dots of
pigment. It is also used to camouflage scalp scars including hair transplant scars.
  2. How does it work?
This state-of-the-art, painless scalp “tattoo” process replicates the appearance of hair follicles
instantly camouflaging the scalp making hair look denser and fuller. Tiny dots of specialized
carbon-based pigment are skillfully put into the scalp one dot at a time, using micro-fine needles,
to replicate the look of hair follicles. This technique is known as pointillism and through a series
of sessions, usually 2 to 3, hairlines and density are created and balanced to blend with your skin,
hair, and head shape. Results are immediate. No down time.
  3. Am I a candidate?
Great as a stand-alone treatment for hairline restoration for early to advanced hair loss and
density fills for thinning hair. It is also the perfect complement to other hair loss solutions like
PRP (platelet rich plasma) and Hair Transplants where perhaps you did not get the result you
were hoping for. SMP can further enhance the results of hair transplant surgery and PRP and
finish creating the successful look of a full head of hair.
  4. How long does Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) last?
SMP lasts 4-6 years before a touch-up is needed. Good scalp care including avoiding excessive
sun exposure maximizes time between touch-ups.
